Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) has announced that Dan Bailey has been appointed as President of Jio Platforms. He will lead the company’s international business plans. Dan will be based in London and will report to Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.
Dan has more than 35 years of experience in consulting and investment banking. He has worked in senior leadership roles at companies like Schroders/Citi, Morgan Stanley, HSBC. Most recently, he was the Chairman of Deutsche Bank’s TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom) division. During his career, he has advised some of the world’s biggest companies and investors on major business deals, including important telecom transactions.

At Jio Platforms, Dan will also become a member of the Executive Committee and help guide the company’s overall strategy.
At the company’s recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), Jio shared that it now plans to expand beyond India. Over the last ten years, Jio has created digital platforms and technologies that have improved internet access and connectivity for more than a billion people.
Speaking about the appointment, Akash Ambani said he is happy to welcome Dan to Jio. He added that Dan has been a trusted advisor to the company for many years and has played an important role in its growth. Akash said Dan has strong global experience in telecom and technology, deep industry knowledge, and shares Jio’s vision for the future.
Dan Bailey said he has always admired what Jio has achieved in India, especially its scale, speed, and impact on people’s lives. He said helping Jio grow internationally is a great opportunity and that he is excited to start working with Akash and the team.
